Barclays Stockbrokers send out a raft of email and DM three, two and one month before the annual ISA and SIPP deadline (April 5th each year). A whole set of communications with timers, countdown clocks and other time devices were used for this campaign. Oven timers clicked down on banners, bells rung and clocks that increased in sensitivity were used nearer and nearer the time to create a sense of urgency.
