BANK OF IRELAND

Ireland is a spiritual home to over 10% of the UK population either directly as they’re expatriates, or through relatives and connections. Bank of Ireland sought to offer this group the kind of banking facilities they’d get back home in Ireland.

We created a campaign based on the idea that stepping into a BOI branch was like going home as you’d meet Irish friendship, attitudes and even a bit of craic. Posters, press ads and collateral were all based on the idea of ‘travel advertising for a bank’ rather than simply bank advertising. We also created a display typeface that we called ‘Bankic” as it was a blend of Gaelic, Gothic and the kind of typefaces we’re familiar with on banknotes.
